Grennan & Sperandio 'Get It Right!'

Commissioned by the Trade and General Workers' Union (Wales), one of the largest UK trade unions, Get It Right! presents five true-life anecdotes about coming to work in Britain. Distributed in an edition of 6,000 from February 2008 through the Union and Trades Union Council networks in Wales.

Grennan & Sperandio are 'Becoming Modern'

Little is left of it save its sublimity, Grennan & Sperandio, oil on canvas, 4'x5', 2008

Recently completed are a suite of eleven paintings for the solo exhibition 'Becoming Modern,' a commission by Oriel Davies Gallery, Newtown, Wales UK.

The paintings have been inspired by Gwendoline and Margaret Davies' Italian journey of 1909. The project has been kindly supported by the Davies family. The Davies sisters' collection of impressionist and post-impressionist artworks formed a major bequest to the National Museum of Wales and the suite of new paintings will be accompanied by works from the collection. A 60-page Catalogue will also be available.

These new works will hang alongside well-known art from the Davies Bequest: two views of Venice by Claude Monet from 1908, Paul Cezanne's Provencal Landscape, paintings by Berthe Morisot and Camille Pissarro, and Degas' bronze study, Dressed Dancer. At the Oriel Davies Gallery from 9 February, 2008.
